In his family medical practice, Peak Family Medicine, Dr. Blackwell would often meet people who suffered from the negative physical and emotional effects of excess weight and obesity. Unfortunately, the constraints of private medical practice did not allow for the type of ongoing, programmatic intervention necessary for sustained weight-loss success. Dr. Blackwell founded Peak Nutrition and Weight Loss Clinic, PA in Spring 2007 to address the need for a medically-supervised program to help patients lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Peak Nutrition and Weightloss Clinic combines the services of a registered dietician with medical supervision and guidance on appropriate exercise to help patients achieve and maintain their weight loss objectives.
Dr. Blackwell is a graduate of University of Florida College of Medicine and completed his residency training at Duke University Medical Center. He has been in private practice since 1990. He is a Board Certified Bariatric Physician, which is a licensed doctor who has specialization in the medical treatment of overweight, obesity and related conditions.
